My cat Salem was barely 2 when I took in a litter of kittens and their queen as emergency fosters.
Salem NEVER had hairballs (he’s always been a very healthy & handsome fellow) but suddenly while I fostered, he was having hairballs. I worried about his diet, his water intake, damn near everything, until I figured out why my black cat was throwing up grey hairballs: he had pair-bonded to one of my foster kittens so much that he groomed him to the point of getting sick. (The foster queen was an ok mom, but she was a stray and sucked at keeping her babies clean so it was common for Salem to bathe them in-between my bathing sessions as they learned to use litter boxes)
Bear ended up becoming my first foster fail, and he and Salem have been inseparable ever since 🥰 this year it’ll be Bear’s first Christmas with us! And just as boys do, they absolutely love tearing through the house wrestling.
The stories of incredible animals, but more of amazing people. There are so many very good people. Thank you all for your aid and support for animals. You're the best!

I have a cat that used to be feral. Before I got her she lived with my old neighbor who used to abuse her. After he went to prison she was outside for years until I found her.
After my kittens died I started leaving cat food out to cope with it. And her and her kittens came out.
She hated me for the longest time but one day I brought her inside to give birth to her newest kittens so I could give them up for adoption when the time came.
Then after a lot of convincing she stayed inside. This is year two of her living with me. She’s warmed up a lot and is super cuddly. She doesn’t run from adult men anymore. I’m so happy I have my momma bear with me.
Too many people give up way too fast on feral cats they take in. I say that as someone who has domesticated a lot of feral cats. It takes time. It doesn't happen in a day and you can't judge them on the first day you bring them in a home when they have had no positive interactions with people.

I see in some of this footage that Pizza has her left ear tip clipped off. That means she’s a feral cat and she has been spayed. Thank you for spaying her.
